At Amor Designs we love experimenting with different colours. If you are looking for something different other than ivory, gold and white wedding invitations, dont be scared to mix and match colours for  your wedding invitation design.

Picking wedding color schemes or a wedding theme for your special day is one of the first decisions that you'll need to make. The color or theme has an influence on the decor for the ceremony and reception, and are reflected in items like your invitations and the attire for your bridal party.

If you have ever been to an Asian Wedding you will know what I mean by using lots of colour. We have designed many invitations for Asian Weddings and we love their colour schemes, pinks, bright blues, reds, oranges,.... the list of colour just goes on.

Mix and match colours to create a wedding invitation unique to you. We recently designed a turquoise and black themed wedding invitation for a customer and absolutely love the colour scheme. Turquoise is very popular again this year, as is black, add a little sparkle with diamantes and crystals and you have a wow-factor wedding invitation. Spring is such a fabulous time to have your wedding.  In spring, a pale yellow brings images of warmth and new growth, a time for new beginnings and new beginnings for you as man and wife. Why not have tulips for your wedding flower bouquet? Bright pinks, oranges, creams and bright blues. Mix cerise pink and bright blues together for a spring and summer wedding theme.

There is no set rule on when to send your wedding invitations out. You will probably read in wedding magazines and other wedding related websites to send out your invitations 6-8 weeks before your wedding. It is entirely upto the bride and groom when you send your wedding invitations out to your guests. I personally dont think 6-8 weeks is enough warning for your guests.

The sooner your guests know when your big day is the better! It gives them time to plan their wedding outfit and plenty of time to arrange any other plans. For example your guests may want to arrange hotel bookings or arrange how they will get to the venue, remember to give guests plenty of time.

If you are getting married abroad or have relatives from abroad coming to your wedding, then let them know well in advance so they can book any flight tickets and make any other arrangements.

If  you are having handmade wedding invitations from a stationery supplier, then remember to also book well in advance. Most wedding stationery suppliers like ourselves need plenty of time to order any materials to make your wedding stationery. At Amor Designs we like to order fresh stock from our suppliers to design your special wedding invitation and other stationery. Allow time for any proofs of your invitation to be sent to you before you make any orders. Amor Designs sends proofs out of your wedding invitations with your own personalised wording for you to check and proof read before any order is completed, and only when you are happy with everything do we start making your invitations.

Once your invitations are sent out, you can then relax and start planning other aspects of your wedding.
